The Golden Rule of Family Innocence – Judge Bruce Peterson joins attorney Michelle MacDonald and FIP advocate Barb Zorn to discuss Co-Parent Court , where unmarried, separated parents of modest means (who already have child support orders designed to reimburse the County) attend workshops to develop cooperative parenting plans incorporated into court orders. Judge Peterson agrees that ”The most important contribution a parent can make to a child is love and companionship” FIP is a consent process, where couples pledge not to sue each other in court, incorporating the Golden Rule “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” No one likes to be sued, but sadly the “Golden Rule” in family court litigation seem to be “Do unto others beforethey do unto you.”
Michelle Lowney MacDonald, attorney, founded along side her clients The Family Innocence Project, a non-profit dedicated to keeping families out ofcourt: resolving conflicts and injustices peacefully. Donations are tax deductible.
